As with doors you can make a statement with a custom build timber porch added to the front of your home. Great care should be taken at the design stage to ensure the new addition is sympathetic in style to its new location, whilst achieving your requirements to create a barrier between the conditions outside and the opening of the main door into your home. Consideration should also be paid into whether you wish this space to become a ‘boot room’ for taking off your outdoor clothes, before entering your home. If this is the case your new wooden porch should be constructed on a small wall to hide the items being stored on the floor, or within cupboard space inside.
