Orangeries
Quayside Conservatories are manufacturers to the trade and retail
Our classical bespoke Orangeries
This style of building is sophisticated and stylish with decorative pillars, ornate cornice details, single or multiple lantern roofs and timber finishes in various soft shades of colour as well as traditional white.
The name reflects the original use of the building as a place where citrus trees were over wintered in tubs under cover, surviving through harsh frosts. They were frequently found in the grounds of fashionable residences from the 17th to the 19th century.
What is the difference between an Orangery and Conservatory?
The main technical difference relates to how the roof of each is constructed. A very simple differentiation is that a conservatory has the majority of its roof glazed, whereas an orangery tends to have a solid perimeter roof with roof lanterns to allow light in.
This style of building will make a classic and beautiful addition to your home.
