Our Design Process
After your initial enquiry, we’ll arrange a convenient time to visit your home. During the visit, we take precise measurements, discuss how you want to use the space, and note any design preferences. We will also take a few reference photos to ensure accuracy.
From there, we will prepare a clear quotation along with a proposed design, allowing you to visualise how your new understairs storage will look, before moving forward.

Established in 1994, Quayside has over 30 years of experience in high-quality craftsmanship. Our close-knit team brings together backgrounds in boatbuilding, joinery, and cabinet making, skills that demand precision, and attention to detail.
We began our journey manufacturing hardwood conservatories from a small boat shed. As homes and lifestyles evolved, so did we, expanding into hardwood windows and doors, flat-roof orangeries, garden rooms, and bespoke joinery.
Today, responding to growing demand for home storage, we are proud to introduce our bespoke understairs range. Every unit is manufactured in our Beccles workshop, set in the idyllic surroundings of Puddingmoor on the River Waveney.

Shaker Style Understairs Storage
Our Shaker style understairs units offer a timeless and versatile design. Featuring clean lines and recessed panel detailing, they sit comfortably in both traditional and modern interiors.
Each unit is made to measure, ensuring a seamless fit and maximum use of available space. Externally, all cabinetry is supplied with a factory pre-sprayed, fully primed and painted finish, providing a smooth, durable surface. The paint colour can be chosen to suit your home, offering complete design flexibility and a superior finish that far exceeds on-site painting.
Internally, the units are manufactured using pre-finished, textured oak-effect Eggerboard. This premium material is highly durable, moisture-resistant, and fully wipeable, making it ideal for everyday use while retaining the warmth and appearance of natural oak.
The result is a beautifully balanced storage solution, classic in appearance, robust in construction, and designed for long-term living.
Contemporary Understairs Storage
Our contemporary range offers a sleek, minimalist alternative. With flush, plain door and drawer fronts, this style creates a clean, uncluttered look that integrates effortlessly into modern home interiors.
As with all Quayside understairs furniture, each unit is custom-made to your space. The exterior features a factory pre-sprayed, fully primed and painted finish, available in any colour of your choice. Whether subtle or bold, the finish delivers a refined, durable surface with exceptional consistency.
Inside, the cabinetry is crafted from pre-finished, textured oak-effect Eggerboard, offering the perfect balance of visual warmth and practical performance. Hard-wearing, moisture-resistant, and easy to clean, it’s designed to stand up to daily use.

Installation & Delivery
To ensure a flawless result, all understairs units are delivered to site by our installation team, ensuring they arrive in perfect condition and ready for fitting.
Installation is carried out by our skilled tradespeople and typically takes approximately one day, depending on the size and complexity of the project. Throughout the installation, we take great care to respect your home, using protective floor coverings and safeguards to minimise disruption and keep your space clean and tidy.
